NYCSLIST is an electronic listserv intended to link all NYC School Library Personnel and create a common forum for the exchange of thoughts and ideas.

To subscribe to NYCSLIST, register through the webpage at http://netpals.lsoft.com/archives/nycslist.html.
1. Click on “Subscribe or Unsubscribe”
2. Enter your full name, @schools.nyc.gov e-mail address and click on submit.
3. You will receive a confirmation in the e-mail account you registered with. Click on the link in the e-mail to confirm registration.
4. From the “Join or Leave the NYCLIST List” page, users can also update personal settings including subscription type (regular, digest, or index form), mail header style (listserv-style, with list name in subject is preferred), acknowledgments, and disable mail delivery. Digest will send you an email once a day with all emails from the day. “Regular” will send every post to you as they are sent out. Be aware that the delay of a digest may mean you will receive time sensitive emails the next day.
- How NYCSLIST Became the Go-To Resource for New York City School Librarians
Librarians are among the true "power users" of LISTSERV email lists. A simple query of CataList, the official catalog of LISTSERV lists, shows 588 different lists, and that only includes public lists. Librarians from schools, universities, historical venues, governments and other organizations have been using LISTSERV for decades. Thank you for your interest in joining or continuing your membership with the Hudson Valley Library Association (HVLA) the local professional organization serving independent and non-public school librarians! We ask each member to (re)register in the fall, even if you previously joined mid-year, so that we have the most accurate information about our members for the new school year. - HVLA WebsiteFormed in 1959, HVLA brings together librarians primarily from independent K-12 schools in the New York City, Long Island, Westchester and nearby New Jersey and Connecticut communities. With a minimum of formality and a maximum of benefit, members meet three times a year to discuss and consider a wide range of topics, including evaluation of books and reading programs, technology and libraries, information literacy, and professional development. An active listserv keeps us connected between meetings. In addition, divisional groups exist for lower, middle, and upper school librarians to discuss curricular and collection-related interests.
