Description, Goals, Intended Outcomes:

This presentation is intended to showcase different iPad and iPod applications available to teachers and librarians for use with ELL students and foreign language students.

Process to Develop and Implement this Project:

This project came out of my personal use of Chinese-English dictionaries and language learning tools and programs. I realized that many of these tools would be useful in ELL and foreign language classrooms equipped with iPads or iPod touch devices.

Budget: Money to purchase class sets of iPads or iPods. (This is the ideal situation—even having five or six of these devices would be beneficial to use for pull out work or for a workstation in the classroom or library.)

Timeline:  At your own speed.

Common Core State Standard(s) addressed:

Language Standards for grades 9-12 Conventions of Standard English: 1-2,

Knowledge of Language: 3, Vocabulary Acquisition and Use: 4-6
